How to clean your saw?

Most of us probably know that the lapidary industry is a dirty, messy hobby. Cleaning a saw is both time-consuming and an undesirable dirty task.

Fortunately, Highland Park Lapidary came up with a great idea on how to clean your saw even if it's currently running or cutting. Installing this product in your saw will save you both time and money.

What is this product anyway? Well, it is the Everclean Oil Cleaning System that consists of a steel tank, a pump, and a centrifuge (the Everclean separator).

As you cut hundreds or thousands of pounds of rough rock, your saw and oil can’t help but get mucky. With the cost of oil running $15-$25/gallon, it can be expensive to do an oil change on your saw every time it gets dirty not to mention the time-consuming undesirable cleanup.

Once your oil gets dirty you can dump it into the tank from a saw and then pump it up into the Everclean while cutting. The centrifuge then separates dirt particles from the oil and the cleaned oil is then returned to the saw. Inside the unit, there is a removable canister, which collects and compacts the sludge.

As a result, the oil can be used again and it also reduces the wear out on internal components, such as your blade stays sharper, the feed nut and your bearings will last much longer. So you save money by not buying more oil nor replacing internal components frequently. And you save time too because the Everclean cleans the saw oil while you're cutting and running the machine.

With an EverClean system, the saw can be kept clean easily, and gallons of mineral oil can be used for months, repeatedly.
